FOLK WITH A PULSE
Before daring to share her own songs on the stage, Sophie Janna toured the world with folk duo The Lasses. Inspired by the Irish ballads she sang with The Lasses for years, Sophie Janna sings about being a soft human in a world made of concrete. Her song 'Fairy Lights' made her songwriter of the year 2023 according to podcast Indie And A Show. Dutch music magazine OOR thought Janna's EP Wide World was "possibly the most beautiful folk made in the Netherlands" while UK-based KLOF magazine found it "impossible to resist". Sophie Janna's melancholy songs are typically delivered with a disarming sense of humor and a fingerpicked guitar.
